Why Does My Wall Still Show Damp Patches After Fresh Paint?

Paint is a finish. Waterproofing is a system. If water is still entering the wall, a new coat will blister, flake, or ghost the same patch within weeks — sometimes days in monsoon.

What the paint is hiding

• Rain penetrating an external wall (the patch is on the inside of that wall).
• A bathroom or terrace leak travelling down a column or through a slab.
• Rising damp at the base of a ground-floor wall.
• A leaking pipe in the wall cavity.

Anti-damp paints can slow the stain. They cannot fix a failed membrane, an open parapet joint, or a cracked waste pipe. If the patch returns, stop painting and inspect the source. We use thermal scans so we are not guessing which of those four it is.
